One of the biggest things I’ve learned since I started Learning to Adventure is that the blogging community is AWESOME. It’s a little community filled with helpful, friendly and welcoming people.
I am so excited to tell you that one of these lovely individuals has noticed my blog and thinks it’s just a little bit award worthy – crazy, right? Ashley over at TravelAnimalOnline has picked me to win a Versatile Blogger Award.
So, what’s this all about?
The Versatile Blogger Award is a blogger-to-blogger award. There’s a few conditions to this whole deal – first up I have to tell you all 7 things about me, then I get to nominate some people I think are pretty awesome.
7 things about me
1 – I work in a zoo and yes, it’s actually really cool.
I’m a digital marketer by trade – so this job gives me the perfect balance of being a massive geek but also going out to play with animals.
2 – I’m getting married in September.
As I write this post, I have exactly 79 days left before I become Mrs O.
3 – I’ve moved around a lot.
I’ve lived in 7 different counties in my life (and 14 different houses) – from Hampshire to Northumberland.
4 – In October I’ll be celebrating my 13th birthday.
No, I’m not a tweenager. When I was 14 I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and each year I celebrate my second birthday on the date I got the all clear. More on that one day… maybe.
5 – I have an unhealthy obsession with Sea Otters.
Actually, make that most species of otter (sorry giant river otters, you look a bit like Voldemort). Seriously though, what’s not to love?
6 – I’m terrified of Window Cleaners.
To the point that the guys who clean our windows at work knock before they wash so I can run away and hide.
7 – My weirdest adventure to date was a friends wedding in Cherkassy, Ukraine.
Now that really is a story for another time…
And the award goes to…
I hope that’s taught you a little bit about me – and if you’re still reading to the end that’s a good sign!! Thank you again to Ashley for nominating me, I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me and if you stick around, maybe you’ll enjoy finding out too.
